Before anything else, we need to know if you're eligible and what route makes the most sense for you. This is a 15-minute call — free, no hard sell, no obligation.

We'll look at your education, current role, years of experience, and salary expectations. We'll confirm which visa applies to you (Kennismigrant, EU Blue Card, or another route), give you a realistic timeline, and explain what our service involves and costs.

Employer arrangement

3–5 days

Via RelocateEU EOR or direct employer verification

The Kennismigrant visa requires an IND-recognised sponsor. This is either your Dutch employer (if they already have sponsor status) or RelocateEU acting as your Employer of Record.

You can be employed compliantly from day one

If RelocateEU acts as your EOR: you sign an employment contract with RelocateEU, which has IND recognised sponsor status. You work for your actual employer (the client company) but RelocateEU is your legal employer in the Netherlands and handles all payroll, tax, and visa obligations.

Visa application

~2 weeks

We submit to IND — you don't file anything yourself

As your IND-recognised sponsor, RelocateEU submits the Kennismigrant application to the IND on your behalf. You do not go to an embassy or consulate at this stage — that comes after approval.

📋 Your job in this step: Get your degree apostilled (legalised) through India's Ministry of External Affairs if you haven't already. Allow 2–4 weeks for this. We'll tell you exactly which documents need apostille when you sign up.

Pre-arrival preparation

MVV collection + housing + logistics

Once your visa is approved, you collect your MVV (entry visa sticker) from the Dutch consulate in India. Appointments are in Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai. We help you book the right one based on your timeline.

Land and settle

6–8 weeks total

From airport to first payslip — we're with you

You've landed. The first two weeks involve several mandatory registrations. We walk you through every one.

BSN number — Register at the gemeente (municipality) within 5 days. We explain what to bring and what to say.

Residence permit collection — Collect your biometric verblijfsvergunning from the IND desk. We provide your appointment reference.

Bank account — Open a Dutch bank account. We recommend Bunq for new arrivals (no BSN required to start).
✓
Health insurance — Mandatory within 4 months. We advise on the best options and whether you qualify for zorgtoeslag (allowance).
✓
30% ruling application — Submitted by RelocateEU on your behalf within your first month. This must not be delayed.
✓
DigiD registration — Your Dutch digital identity. Required for government services and your tax portal.
After you've settled — ongoing support
Monthly payroll and payslips via RelocateEU
Annual tax filing guidance
Residence permit renewal (before 5-year expiry)
Permanent residency application guidance at 5 years
Family reunification support if your family joins later
